PHOTOGRAPHY | VIDEO | EVENT Hearts on Fire Walk-a-Thon
A story-led photo and video project capturing the emotion, community, and impact behind Hearts on Fire Walk-a-Thon’s annual relay fundraiser.
Context
Hearts on Fire Walk-a-Thon is a community fundraiser supporting children and families impacted by cancer, centered around remembrance, resilience, and connection.
The goal of this project was to document the event in real time while also creating promotional content for future awareness and participation.
Approach
This coverage was approached with a documentary-first mindset, focusing on emotion, atmosphere, and authentic human interaction while maintaining an uplifting tone.
The story was shaped through intentional b-roll, participant moments, and guided interviews, allowing the final piece to reflect both the experience of the event and its deeper purpose.
Process
Pre-production included planning meetings with the lead organizer to map out scheduling, key interview subjects, and story direction.
On-site, I handled full photography, video coverage, and conducted all interviews, including question development and direction.
Post-production included full editing, sound design, and delivery of multiple assets tailored for both recap and future promotional use.
Outcome
The final deliverables included a cinematic event highlight film, interview-driven story segments, social media reels, and a curated photo gallery.
The content now serves as a long-term storytelling library for Hearts on Fire Walk-a-Thon, supporting both awareness and future fundraising efforts.

Multiple Video Deliverables
We brought Nicole in to create video content for a few of our key events, and she captured everything beautifully. She has a way of blending into the moment, making people feel at ease so nothing feels forced, just real, genuine storytelling.
Watching the final video was incredible. She brought together the energy, emotion, and purpose of our work in a way that truly reflects who we are.
This video has become such a powerful tool for sharing our story with the community. I would absolutely recommend Nicole, she’s incredibly talented and understands how to turn moments into meaningful visual stories.
